The 2017 Global Grand Challenges Summit aims to inspire the next generation of engineers, policymakers, and the public to address critically important engineering challenges and opportunities facing humanity. It will focus on four themes: Sustainability, Health, Security, and Joy of Living, as well as Education, and Public Engagement related to the Grand Challenges. At the Summit, you will hear about sustainability efforts in China, bioengineering advances in the UK and US and efforts to advance the human experience through virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

Attend the Summit and receive free lodging provided you request it by March 31.  The National Academy of Engineering (NAE)  will also provide five students who are endorsed by Cornell Engineering an additional $500 toward actual expenses.

The summit is sponsored by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), The UK Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

For more information and to register:  http://ggcs2017.org/.  Please let Jean Hunter at jbh5@cornell.edu and  Betsy East at ere2@cornell.edu know of your interest and intended registration so that 5 students may be endorsed.
