Congressional representative Suzanne Bonamici (Oregon) is looking for summer interns in either DC or Beaverton, OR. She is the ranking member (leading member of the minority party) of the Environment Subcommittee of the House Science, Space and Technology committee. (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Bonamici and https://science.house.gov/)
Apply for a summer internship here: http://bonamici.house.gov/internshipform The internship doesn’t specifically call for engineers, but we think she won’t receive too many applications from engineers, so you may have an edge there.
One question on the form asks if academic credit is available for internships: at Cornell it is not, but it is possible to use a communication-rich internship to fulfill the technical communications requirement if arrangements are made in advance with the College of Engineering technical writing program.
We don’t know whether this internship is paid or unpaid – you will need to call Rep. Bonamici’s office to find out.
